School Performance Report 2001-02
OUR MISSION
To ensure a quality education by focusing on academic success, instilling a love for learning, and preparing all students as productive citizens.

KEEPPING YOU INFORMED
This report is a summary of some indicators of the performance of our school.  No single report can tell the whole story of our school's educational program or the people who work and learn here.  We e3ncourage you to find out firsthand by visiting our school.  If you are a parent of one of our students, we invite you to take an active role in your child's learning because studies show that when parents are involved, students do better in school.

HOW WE ARE IMPROVING
To focus on academic learning, emphasis has been placed on implementation of state and national standards.  We have developed a personalized list of academic needs for each child taking the state standards test.  Continued emphaisis will be placed on identifying individual needs for each child.

WHAT WE CELEBRATE
Personal achievement is celebrated in a variety of ways, both within and outside the regular classroom.

Emphasis on reading is celebrated through the Accelerated Reading program.  Children earn points for reading, then spend those points in our Accelerated REader store.  Children may purchase a variety of products as well as certain privileges.

OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Many factors, such as how often a child attends school, moving frequently, and English language experience, influence school achievement.  Measuring these characteristics helps us understand our student's needs.

HOW OUR STUDENTS PERFORMED
Our students take several assessments or tests that provide valuable information about what they know and are able to do.  Tests also provide information to monitor progress toward local, state, and federal goals for student performance in reading and math.  * To protect the privacy of students, schools cannot report scores for any category with 16 or fewer students.
